Even in death, she can’t escape her father. All she can do is jump from memory to memory—memories her childhood home has of her mother—and try to stay as quiet as possible so he can’t find her. With each journey through the river of time, she feels less of herself and more of…whatever the hell this is. Maybe this is hell. Maybe this is purgatory. Or maybe this is just what death IS: living forever in the memories of your loved ones.
